Cake Portions
This is the easiest way to portion a cake to get the most servings from it. You will need a large sharp knife and either a chopping board or big plate/tray.
How to Cut
- 1
Remove any inedible decorations from the cake.
- 2
Cut the whole way across the cake with a large sharp knife.
- 3
Lay the cut piece onto your chopping board or plate and cut again into finger slices.
- 4
You can first cut lengthways in half, then in half again if you want to be really precise!
- 5
Cut through the middle of each finger slice to give you double portions.
- 6
Serve up and enjoy!
Portion Sizes
| Cake Size | Servings |
|---|---|
| 6" | ~20servings |
| 7" | ~30servings |
| 8" | ~40servings |
| 10" | ~60servings |
Serving counts are approximate and based on standard finger-slice portions. Larger dessert portions will yield fewer servings.
